Here is the most recent WHITE PAPER STUDY on compressor oils. It clearly shows that AMSOIL synthetic compressor oils are far more superior to the others.

SIROCCO™ Synthetic Compressor Oil ISO 32/46 (SEI)
AMSOIL SIROCCO® Synthetic Compressor Oil (SEI) is recommended as a direct replacement for PAG compressor oils such as Sullair Sullube 32® and Ingersoll-Rand SSR Ultra-coolant®. Not recommended for use with Silicone base fluids.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL SIROCCO® Synthetic Compressor Oil (SEI) is formulated with premium synthetic ester technology. This high-quality, long-life fluid lasts several times longer in use than mineral-based oils. AMSOIL SIROCCO® Compressor Oil is fully formulated with nondetergent additives and is designed for use in rotary screw compressors and vacuum pumps. SIROCCO® effectively protects against wear, oxidation, foam and rust and has inherent lubricity and good thermal conductivity which allow it to reduce heat and energy consumption. AMSOIL SIROCCO® Compressor Oil increases operating efficiency, reducing money spent on energy, repair and maintenance costs. AMSOIL SIROCCO® Synthetic Compressor Oil maintains performance across a wide operating temperature range. Its low pour point, high viscosity index and lack of paraffins (wax) makes it an excellent all season lubricant. At high temperatures, SIROCCO® forms virtually no carbon, allowing for clean operation. At cold temperatures, equipment starts easier and the lubricant is quickly pumped to critical components, preventing lubricant starvation and excessive wear. SIROCCO® Compressor Oil also resists water to prevent damaging oil/water emulsions, allowing for longer lubricant life and ease of water removal from the sump.

PERFORMANCE FEATURES
• Resists foaming
• Rust and oxidation inhibited
• Readily separates from water
• Recommended for use in rotary screw compressors
• Long-life/extended drain performance.
• Compatible with polyglycol fluids such as Sullair Sullube 32® and Ingersoll-Rand SSR Ultra-coolant®
• Biodegradable under the CEC-L33-A94 standard safety advantage

AMSOIL SIROCCO® Synthetic Ester Compressor Oil has higher flash, fire and auto ignition points than competitive petroleum oils. Its resistance to carbon formation and the ashless additive system minimize the incidence of deposits acting as ignition-promoting hot spots. Although AMSOIL SIROCCO® Synthetic Compressor Oil increases fire safety, it cannot be considered nonflammable.

DC Series Synthetic Ester Compressor Oils ISO 100 & 150

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor Oils are long-life, premium compressor lubricants based on novel, proprietary technology. They improve compressor efficiency and extend drain intervals in reciprocating (piston) compressors and vacuum pumps where high discharge temperatures or carbon build-up are a concern.

AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor Oils incorporate the highest quality, thermally-stable synthetic esters fortified with premium non-detergent, ashless additives for maximum protection at high temperatures and pressures where petroleum lubricants typically break down.

Improves Compressor Efficiency
AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor Oils are designed to prevent hard carbon deposits on valves for greatly improved compressor efficiency. Valve maintenance is extended and recompression is virtually eliminated. Compressor efficiency is improved, heat is reduced and money is saved through lower electrical energy consumption.

Reduces Wear
Unlike other compressor oils, AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor Oils are anti-wear fortified. They help reduce wear in high contact regions for increased compressor life and efficiency.

Extends Oil Life
AMSOIL DC Series Compressor Oils combine the inherent oxidation resistance of synthetic esters with highly potent oxidation inhibitors. They last several times longer than petroleum oils, effectively reducing maintenance and waste oil disposal costs.

Reduced Oil Consumption
The low volatility, highly polar nature of AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor Oils reduces the amount of oil needed for cylinder lubrication compared to petroleum oils. Drip feed rates can be lowered, downstream oil is minimized and money is saved on make-up oil.

Resists Water Contamination
Water from condensation builds up in compressors that can cause oil/water emulsions, environmental discharge hazards and rust. AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor Oils readily separate from water, and they are anti-rust fortified. Water can be easily drained off for simplified environmental discharge and increased oil life.

Safety Advantage
AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor Oils are ashless, high flash point formulations with very low carbon-forming tendencies that minimize the incidence of ignition-promoting “hot spots.” While DC Synthetic Compressor Oils can provide improved fire safety, they cannot be considered non-flammable.

                      SYNTHETIC HYDRAULIC OILS

Synthetic TBI ISO 32/46 Biodegradable Hydraulic Oil (TBI)
Denison HF-0, HF-1, HF-2
Vickers M-2950-S, I-286-S
Cincinnati Milacron P-68, P-70

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL TBI hydraulic oil is a premium lubricant designed to biodegrade to its natural state when subjected to sunlight, water and microbial activity. Because it is formulated with ashless additives that do not contain heavy metals, TBI has a very low toxicity level.

AMSOIL TBI incorporates very high-quality synthetic base oils that provide thermal stability, even though they are biodegradable. TBI also contains antiwear additives that have been thoroughly tested and qualified against stringent hydraulic oil standards including Denison HF-0, HF-1 and HF-2, Vickers M-2950-S and I-286-S and Cincinnati Milacron P-68 and P-70. TBI provides optimum protection for hydraulics, preventing pump wear and rusting of critical components. It also contains antioxidants that increase oil life and foam inhibitors that quickly release air from the oil. Based on high-quality, synthetic oil chemistry that better withstands heat and lasts longer, TBI outperforms vegetable oil-type, biodegradable hydraulic oils, ensuring problem-free operation.

APPLICATION RECOMMENDATION
AMSOIL TBI is recommended for gear, vane and piston stationary and mobile hydraulic systems. TBI is a multi-viscosity, SAE 5W-20 oil and is recommended for use in place of either ISO-32 or ISO-46 hydraulic oils.

TBI is essentially compatible with typical hydraulic oils, and small amounts of contamination (lines, residue) are acceptable. However, it is recommended systems be drained prior to installing TBI. Excessive system contamination will minimize its biodegradability effectiveness.

TBI is especially well suited for applications where environmental contamination due to leaking or blown hydraulic lines presents an environmental hazard.

TBI has been tested and found compatible with Nitrile (Buna-N), Poly Acrylate, Fluorocarbon (Viton) and Silicone seals which are commonly found in hydraulic systems.

provide optimum protection to expensive equipment.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL Synthetic AW Series Antiwear Hydraulic Oils are shear-stable, long-life lubricants based on high-quality synthetic oil technology. These oils are formulated with a premium additive system that inhibits oxidation to prevent acid formation and viscosity increase and inhibit rust and foam (providing smooth hydraulic operation). AW Oils contain a very effective zinc-based antiwear/antioxidant additive which controls wear in high-speed, high-pressure vane and gear pumps while meeting the lubrication requirements of axial piston pumps with bronze-on-steel metallurgy. AW Oils meet the requirements for Maximum Efficiency Hydraulic Fluid (mehf) and can lower costs and/or increase productivity in mobile equipment by 6 to 15%. Improved pump efficiency can increase hydraulic power, reduce fuel consumption and improve productivity. They are designed for long life and typically reduce maintenance costs by extending drain intervals and reducing labor costs, repairs and downtime.

AMSOIL Synthetic Base Oil Technology
AMSOIL synthetic base oils resist thermal and oxidative breakdown and work to prevent carbon and varnish deposits. The very high viscosity indices, low pour points and lack of paraffins (wax) make these good all-season lubricants well suited for temperature extremes. At high temperatures and pressures, AW Oils provide a good lubricating film and protect components against wear.

Performance Features
• Extended oil drain intervals
• Antiwear protection for high-pressure systems
• Recommended for gear, vane and piston pumps
• Contain rust, oxidation and foam inhibitors
• Designed for extreme temperature operations • Hydrolytically stable and readily separates from water
