AMSOIL OILS WITH ZINC AND PHOSPHORUS FOR FLAT TAPPET AND CAMSHAFT LOBES
In 2005, the API (American Petroleum Institute and ILSAC (International Lubricant Standards Approval Committee, in an effort to guarantee catalytic converter performance in new vehicles, instituted standards that reduced the levels of zinc and phosphorus in API oils.
AMSOIL has complied with that in most of their oils, but at the same time they realize that there is a large amount of people that have classic cars, rebuild motors and have high performance older motors that need the zinc levels to stay high.
